Colossians 1:15,16:

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.”

Colossians 2:9:

” For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily.”

Prayer:
Help me God to accept what sometimes is hard to understand, helot me trust that your Word is true and that you want to make yourself known to me. In Jesus’ name, amen.

If you have a printed Bible available, I recommend you read the passages directly from it. It’s a great way to teach our children to treasure it.

John 1:1,2:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.”

Word=Jesus

Jesus made himself a human, with the same needs and weaknesses of a human body. But without sin.

This was not the beginning of Jesus, he has always existed.

Prayer:
Father, help us understand the truth of who is Jesus. Teach me to worship Him as he deserves.

Day 6: Christmas exists so your sins would be forgiven

If you have a printed Bible available, I recommend you read the passages directly from it. It’s a great way to teach our children to treasure it.

We all have sinned, you have sinned. We all have failed God with our actions, thoughts and words. No one is innocent of this. Except Jesus.

The angel told this to Joseph about Mary:

Matthew 1:21

” ‘…She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins’.”

Romans 5:8

“…but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Prayer:
Thank you Jesus, for being born and for dying in my place. Help me want to honor you instead of accepting my sin.

Day 5: Christmas exists because we need peace

If you have a printed Bible available, I recommend you read the passages directly from it. It’s a great way to teach our children to treasure it.

Philipians 4:4-7:

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

We all need the One that wants to give us full and real peace. How amazing it is that he wants to give us peace.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to always come to you asking for peace instead of running to things that have an end.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

Day 4: Christmas's purpose is to show us God's love through Jesus

If you have a printed Bible available, I recommend you read the passages directly from it. It’s a great way to teach our children to treasure it.

Romans 8:38-39:

” For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

When you put your faith in him, he makes you his child.

And nothing can separate you from his love. Trust in this truth!

Father, help me trust that you love me, always. Even when I fail, even when I don’t follow you in the most faithful way. Thank you for being always faithful! In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

If you have a printed Bible available, I recommend you read the passages directly from it. It’s a great way to teach our children to treasure it.

Matthew 1:21-23:

“…’She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.’ All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: ‘Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel’ (which means, God with us).”

God wants to be present in your life, he wants to be close to you even if you are not perfect and make mistakes or sin.

Thank you, God for wanting to be with us! Help us appreciate this gift. May your presence fill our hearts with joy! Help us respond in reverence and search for holiness. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Day 1: Christmas exists because God is good

Versión en español

If you have a printed Bible available, I recommend you read the passages directly from it. It’s a great way to teach our children to treasure it.

Genesis 1:31a:

“And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good.”

All of God’s creation is good. And because his heart is good, everything he makes is a product of his goodness. Christmas exists because God is good and he only gives good gifts to his children.

Matthew 7:9-11:

“Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for fish, will give him a serpent? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!”

Thank you, heavenly Father for being good. Give us a good heart that wants to give good things to those around us. In Jesus’ name, amen.
