Colossians 1:15,16:

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.”

Colossians 2:9:

” For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily.”

Prayer:
Help me God to accept what sometimes is hard to understand, helot me trust that your Word is true and that you want to make yourself known to me. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Day 7: Jesus was born as a baby on Christmas, but he has always existed

If you have a printed Bible available, I recommend you read the passages directly from it. It’s a great way to teach our children to treasure it.

John 1:1,2:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.”

Word=Jesus

Jesus made himself a human, with the same needs and weaknesses of a human body. But without sin.

This was not the beginning of Jesus, he has always existed.

Prayer:
Father, help us understand the truth of who is Jesus. Teach me to worship Him as he deserves.

Day 6: Christmas exists so your sins would be forgiven

If you have a printed Bible available, I recommend you read the passages directly from it. It’s a great way to teach our children to treasure it.

We all have sinned, you have sinned. We all have failed God with our actions, thoughts and words. No one is innocent of this. Except Jesus.

The angel told this to Joseph about Mary:

Matthew 1:21

” ‘…She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins’.”

Romans 5:8

“…but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Prayer:
Thank you Jesus, for being born and for dying in my place. Help me want to honor you instead of accepting my sin.

If you have a printed Bible available, I recommend you read the passages directly from it. It’s a great way to teach our children to treasure it.

Philipians 4:4-7:

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

We all need the One that wants to give us full and real peace. How amazing it is that he wants to give us peace.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to always come to you asking for peace instead of running to things that have an end.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

Day 4: Christmas's purpose is to show us God's love through Jesus

If you have a printed Bible available, I recommend you read the passages directly from it. It’s a great way to teach our children to treasure it.

Romans 8:38-39:

” For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

When you put your faith in him, he makes you his child.

And nothing can separate you from his love. Trust in this truth!

Father, help me trust that you love me, always. Even when I fail, even when I don’t follow you in the most faithful way. Thank you for being always faithful! In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

Day 3: Christmas exists because God wants to be present in your life

If you have a printed Bible available, I recommend you read the passages directly from it. It’s a great way to teach our children to treasure it.

Matthew 1:21-23:

“…’She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.’ All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: ‘Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel’ (which means, God with us).”

God wants to be present in your life, he wants to be close to you even if you are not perfect and make mistakes or sin.

Thank you, God for wanting to be with us! Help us appreciate this gift. May your presence fill our hearts with joy! Help us respond in reverence and search for holiness. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Day 2: God planned Christmas a long time ago

If you have a printed Bible available, I recommend you read the passages directly from it. It’s a great way to teach our children to treasure it.

Isaiah 9: 2, 6-7:

“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shined…For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.”

700 years before Jesus was born, God announced through the prophet Isaiah that Jesus would come as a baby.

Thank you God, for fulfilling your promise of sending the One that would bring us peace with you. Thank you for giving us peace in the middle of a world full of anxiety. Take our worries away and help us trust that you have our lives under your control. In Jesus’ name, amen.
